How Service Dog Training Works

1. Required consultation first. Every service dog team starts with a 1-hour consultation ($100) so we can confirm the right fit between trainer, program, and dog — before you commit to anything.
2. Obedience and focus. Training begins with one of our two foundation tracks — Basic Marker Mastery or basic (e-collar) obedience — building the handler focus and reliability every service dog stands on.
3. Task work for your needs. As skills advance, training progresses into task work tailored to your disability-related needs.
4. Public access and distraction-proofing. The final phase emphasizes public access manners and steady behavior around people, dogs, and real-world environments — so your dog works confidently anywhere, not just in controlled settings.
