- Evaluation first. Before the course begins we sit down with you, discuss your long-term goals, and honestly assess whether your dog is capable of the challenge — because not every dog is, and you deserve to know before committing.
- Seven structured lessons. The course trains the calm, controlled obedience that therapy testing demands: steady behavior around strangers, equipment, noise, and other dogs.
- Certification. Upon successful completion, we can evaluate and certify you and your dog through Therapy Pets Unlimited — and many of our former clients have passed their therapy dog certification after this program.

What's the difference between a therapy dog and a service dog?
A therapy dog volunteers comfort to many people — in hospitals, schools, and care facilities — and has public access only where invited. A service dog performs specific tasks for one disabled handler and has broad legal access rights. This program prepares therapy dogs.

Does my dog need obedience first?
Solid obedience is the foundation of therapy work. If your dog isn't there yet, start with obedience lessons or a board & train, then come back for therapy development. The AKC Canine Good Citizen title is also a natural stepping stone.
