Taking The Confusion Out Of Obedience Training

These are questions that most dog owners ask us.

We want to be completely transparent when it comes to dog training.

You want results and we can deliver them to you.

If you have any other questions feel free to contact us.

Q. What is an ecollar?

A: Modern day e-collars use the same technology that you’ll find in TENS machines that are used in physical therapy or chiropractic offices. Our training methods use low level stimulation which mimics that of a “tap on the shoulder” for dogs, and our results speak for themselves. Our ultimate goal is for your dog to be flawlessly obedient without stimulation from the ecollar, with distractions, and we work with you and your dog to make that possible. The ecollar ends up being like an invisible leash.

We primarily train in the Wilmington area.Q. Where do you train?

A: We primarily conduct lessons in the Wilmington area. With convenience in mind, we also offer In-Home training so we can work with your dog in or around your home! We book daytime, evening, and weekend lessons. We try our best to accommodate schedules to make things easy for our clients. We believe in real world, unpredictable distractions and work under those distractions so that your dog learns to listen under any condition.

Our e-collar that we produced is designed to not hurt your dog during training. Q. Will an ecollar hurt my dog or affect their personality?

A: No. The ecollar will not hurt your dog or affect their personality. The ecollar is simply used as a training tool in order to communicate with your dog. There is a common misconception regarding ecollars; they are often mistaken for “shock collars”. In the old days, inexperienced dog owners would try and use these devices in order to scare their dogs into submission. Utilizing our proven method combining positive reinforcement marker training along with an ecollar, your dog will NEVER be “shocked into submission”. Unlike a shocking device, the e-collar is used to get the dog’s attention and keep it focused on listening to the handler.

Your dog will not have to wear the e-collar once the training is completed.Q. Will my dog always have to wear the e-collar?

A: No. Your dog will not always have to wear the e-collar. In fact, inside your home, your dog will quickly be listening to your every command without the e-collar on. However, We recommend you keep the e-collar on even in the house until your dog is completely obedient in your commands. Also, we always recommend putting the e-collar on your dog before you take it outside off-leash. This is due to the fact that you never know what may get your dog’s attention, so, you still want to be able to maintain complete control of your dog. It’s like an invisible leash. We often compare your pet wearing the collar outside to a child wearing a seat belt. Parents drill into their children the importance of wearing a seat belt each and every time they get into a car. That one time the child doesn’t wear the seat belt could be that one time they are in a car accident and a seat belt would have prevented injury. It only takes one time for you dog to see something that really catches their attention and without the collar, you have no way to stop him/her.

Q. Will my dog hate wearing the e-collar?Our e-collar is designed to be comfortable to your dog during and after training.

A: No! Almost everyone is VERY surprised that they receive quite the OPPOSITE reaction from their dog. When you go to put the e-collar on, in a very short time, your dog will recognize this and will coming running and sit down in front of you and wait for you to put it on them. Why? Because the dog knows the e-collar means that they are going outside (to run, play ball, be free, etc) AND they know they are going to do training! A bored dog is a destructive dog; a trained/exercised dog is a HAPPY dog. They look forward to their training sessions because it stimulates them and gives them something to do. Dogs want to be trained and want you to tell them what to do. That means FREEDOM for them! Their only REAL stimulation is the training you give them and their time outside to run, play, and bond with you!

You only have to spend 30 minutes per day to train your dog. Q. How much time per day do I need to train my dog?

A: The great thing about this training is that you don’t have to set a specific amount of time aside per day in order to train your dog! We will teach you how to incorporate this training into your daily routine. We do ask that you spend 30 minutes per day working with your dog for the first 4 weeks of training, to set a good foundation for the training, but after that integrating the training into your daily routine will be easy!

Q. How long will this training take? Our training only takes a total of 4 hours to get your dog where he or she needs to be.
A: Basic Obedience is generally done in 4 lessons (1 hr. ea. lesson) and if you purchase the advanced obedience package, it is another 4 lessons (1 hr. ea. lesson)

We don't suggest our e-collar training until after your dog is 5 months old. Q. At what age can we start e-collar training?
A: Generally, we do not start e-collar training on a dog until it is at least 5 months old. The reason is a puppy has to develop just like a child does in the beginning of life. We found at 5 months old, dogs are more receptive to the training and you will get a better trained dog.

Q. What sets your training apart from the rest?We have the want and desire to make your dog the best through our training.

  1. An off leash future for you and your dog with more freedom to enjoy life. Our goal is for every dog to know what it’s like to have the freedom of being a dog. We want every owner to experience the confidence, joy, and pride of having a dog that is reliable, and consistently well behaved under any level of distraction.
  2. Hope for EVERY dog… ANY BREED, ANY AGE, and ANY SIZE. We don’t discriminate, and … German Shepherds, Dobermans, and Pitbulls are a few of our favorite breeds. Have an aggressive dog that no one else could help you with? Have a shy dog that bites out of fear? Have a reactive dog that can’t walk down a street by another dog without going crazy? Have a hyperactive dog that can’t seem to focus on anything? Been kicked out of other obedience classes? Been told your dog is not trainable? Well, we can help! THAT is the difference. WE ARE THE LAST TRAINERS YOU WILL NEED. Dogs are never too old, fat, slow, or hyper to learn using our methods. Aggressive and dogs with confidence issues are our specialty.

Q. Do you offer group classes? We focus on one-on-one training for your dog to achieve better results.

A: No, we do not and we never will. I have never seen a dog impress me with obedience that came from a group class. You are paying for my undivided attention… not for 10 minutes of my time while I spend the 50 minutes working with 9 other people in a class. One on one attention is one of the reasons we are able to accomplish so much in just a few short weeks.

We offer 100% satisfaction guaranteed for all of our training packages.Q. Do you offer a guarantee?
A: Yes! We are so confident in this system, that if you are not completely amazed and 100% satisfied in the first lesson, we’ll buy the collar back from you and refund any remaining lessons! No questions asked!

Q. How do I book an appointment? To book a training appointment get a hold of us via phone or online.
A: In order to book lessons, first you must pay for the desired Training Package over the phone. Sign up for our easy no interest and no credit check payment plan via. Once paid, just call or email us to schedule dates/times that fit your needs! Most of our clients pay via credit card; however, we also accept cash or checks.
